Stylish blogger award

Now what is this about?
... was my first thought. Many thanks to Claus, not Santa as he did nominate MV and also to Dave G / N+++ for his nomination and i was thinking what to do with this nomination as there was no "you now have to do this or that - guide"... in fact i can quote Dave G / N+++ as he really points it out for me - it is about fun:

"I wasn't sure what to think about these awards floating around our community lately. I mean, on the surface they're basically a feel-good pyramid chain letter. But having received one, and giving it some thought, I decided that it IS a "feel-good" award. It's a nice thing to recognize people for the work that they do, not to mention spreading some good feelings around and do some networking and advertising. It's also fun to share something about yourself to the community that they might not know."

The Rules are simple:

1. Thank and link back to the person giving you the award
2. Share seven things about yourself
3. Select 10-15 blogs who you think deserve this award
4. Contact these bloggers and let them know about the award.
   

I might not be the best with rules but i can give it a try. 1st is done i guess, many thanks again guys. Seven things about myself, oha:

1. When i was about 8 years old my first pet were fishs and there was one with only one eye, he was the leader of all others and my star.
2. With Age five i loved to eat stones.
3. As a young youth i was totally scared by an Old Sindbad film where a giant cyclop ate all of Sindbads friends.
4. I really fear white sharks, in fact i never saw one but my older cousin made me see "The white Shark" too early.
5. With age 16 i again tried to eat stones once in a while and i finally realized that this is stupid.
6. I guess my grandpa is the reason of my miniature love. He had been a war veteran and fought in Russia. As a child i did not know all the circumstances of this war and i was just amazed by his stories, for example how he stole a bike and was cycling through all Europe to get back to his loved wife, my grandma. He was a true hero for me, i can remember being out in the forest and learning about plants and animals from him, listening to stories all day long and also building plane models in different scales together. May all who died, whom i love rest in peace, i see you later :)
7. Seven is my lucky number - i did wear it back in my good old basketball days on my jersey.

Not an easy task as there are so many blogs out there. I might seem lazy in typing but Dave G / N+++ again marks the spot for me, so here is a quote again:

Finally, I hate making lists of notable sites. The reason is if I'm following them, I think they're worth checking out. On top of that, there are plenty of other blogs out there worth recognition that I don't follow only because there are only so many hours in the day, and I can't use them up reading about aspects of the hobby I don't involve myself with. (gaming: lists, strategy, etc) Every site out there has the potential for useful or inspiring information - even undiscovered authors blogging for themselves and letting readers slowly trickle in. (Just be sure to index your information)

However, there are some sites that come to mind, who are awesome in their own right, but have a few things that make them stand out:

We are back from another wonderful Happy Painting Weekend in Dillingen Saar. There will be a big report about it for sure and also some Nnws about more classes, also serious planning of international classes in english - all to come soon.

Many thanks to all involved so far for this great weekend - some first black and white impressions will be attached to this posting. I am still a bit exhausted but joy, happiness, the sun, fine music, great friends, Robert's visit tomorrow and some big plans for the future days guide me the way :)

I can't tell you how inspiring Robert's ship is here at my workbench - soon it starts to be completed in 10 hard days of joyful work - praising the jungle gods in hidden bamboo temples, now it is served and  prepared  to be fullfilled. Some shots i took during a sunny morning last week, again the ship, still not repaired lamp by me - waiting for the Capitano Roberto to join me to plan and fullfill together.

New monkey ahead

 So, while big Kong and little Capuchin are out of the jungle for the weekend, it�s time to introduce myself. First of all, I want to thank you all my new monkey brothers for this warm welcome. You can�t image how much joy and happiness are in my heart by joining the jungle crew :-)

As you all know since the very funny introduction by Roman, my name is Peter and I�m a good friend of him for quite some years. And well there have been some quite hard times in this years but I�m very happy to count him and Raffa to my closest friends. In my opinion the last months have been the best in my whole life. Thank you so much for this joyful experiences my friends!

Just some quick notes on my person: I�m 25 years old, have studied history and politics with my special subject in Middle Eastern politcs, its history and Islam. After my return from Egypt (just some weeks before all the hell started down there) I�m now preparing for my dissertation (and inshallah I will finish it in three years). If somebody is interested in pictures from Egypt and from Israel and the Palestinain Authorities, check out my old blog (unfortunatly the text is in German).

Well, I started painting miniatures with the age of 14, but started trying to paint a higher standard about 3 or 4 years ago. There have been hard times for me in this years because of a big lack of joy while painting. During this I thought I have to be better than other painters and forced myself to do something my heart would not accept for a long time. And poor Kong tried everything he could to change my stubborn mind, but there was not very much time to listen to him, while I was listening to this. And so, about 1 1/2 years ago I stoped painting, finished my studies and went to Cairo.

I think living in Cairo for 3 months changed a lot in my mind. When I got back, I had a new interest in painting and I was able to start thinking a new way while doing it. I may be the same stubborn guy like before, well I�m still listening to the same kind of music, but now I just want to paint for myself and feel the joy while doing it. There is no idea of competition or something of this bullshit. I think Kong�s word have finally reached my brain :-D

But enough of all this dovelike words ;-) Now I want to show you my last works:

Welcome Peter!

The Jungle has a new family member ready to jump the boat: :)
As this is about a really good friend of mine i have to take a moment to tell you something about Peter, aka internet nick "Baphomet".

Peter is great.
He always was, but as we met some years ago Peter was struggling with himself, hardcore.
About the overall sense in life, about future, about past, about politics, about history, about himself - at least i am allowed to say that Peter was struggling with almost everything he did, but what he missed during these years was just enjoying to be alive in the present. We had our hard days during our friendship but finally the tiny supreme intelligence spaceship has landed at Peters dockyard. It took a while but Peter really has changed and finally found what i was trying to explain to him over the last years - Happines and what is most important to me, Habby Bainting. Now there is an amazing tentacle running riot at the landing zone and he enjoys being happy, finally. Peter you can always ring my bell as I also learned a lot from you :)

When it comes to painting... let me start this in another way: When i paint together with Peter, having him sit next to me he really scares the shit out of me. He is brutal and direct when it comes to construct a base and a madman when it comes to colours. Everytime he does something he scares me like this! But he is improving since i've met him for the first time, not only in becoming a great person spreading the joy out of his traveling tentacle antenna in every corner of the room, he has also changed his view on several other topics, including the Miniature Hobby. He is still a brutal Grizzly Bear when it comes to basing but i am less and less moved by such thoughts* when enjoying Happy Painting together. The best thing is you can see the change from a dark cloudy thinking Peter to a shining happy thinking Peter in his models too, and that is in fact the reason why Kong and the other apes decided to make you the Chosen one - the Baphomet, welcome home friend and may you always paint like brutal thunder :)

I now make room for Peter himself to have himself introduced!

*for example using a complete bottle of superglue with common earth on one base in one night ;)

Hello Miniature friends,

you all know well the tragedy that hit Japan lately.
I am not really able to lose much words about it and somehow it feels there is nothing i can do at all.
Some Hobby friends and I decided to get active and paint for the cause to simple try to help.
In the next upcoming weeks there will be some miniatures out for sale and bidding at ebay with 100% of the amount donated to a good reason to help Japan.

I will let you know about new auctions, keep you updated by introducing them via postings to the jungle blog and linking them up to the blogs main page for the time the auction is active. Everyone will choose his place for his donation on its own and will shall let you know about it in the ebay auction. The auctions you will find linked up here are not all inserted by me, they are done by the persons willing to help, everyone will do the handling on his own too. Massive Voodoo just links them up to get your attention.

Welcome home in the Paradise City where the girls are green and the trees are pretty :)

A great Painting Class weekend passed by way too fast, many thanks to all you who have been involved - also mati had a Sculpting Class at this busy weekend and as far as i can read the news i did recieve so fast, they too learned tons of stuff and had their fun. There will be a report about the classes dropping in sooner or later in the next couple of days.

Today the sun is shining proudly and i will take my time to rest and unpack my material i was carrying with me to the class. Nothing more - today i am not intrested in colours, at least for the moment :)

Always remember there is a natural mystic flow into the air, if you listen carefully then you will care or something like that - those participants of the fresh young passed painting class might know what i mean :)

A little update as my mind is confused from too much painting - a quote of Jon:

Hello dear jungle readers,

we are proud to finally announce our Article/Tutorial Area 2.0.

What is different now?

Still there are tons of articles to inspire you, exactly 112 tutorials at the moment.

- We removed all banners that made the section slow due browsing, replaced them with text links and a little describtion.

- Also a brand new superb function awaits you that allows a more chilled scrolling through all the articles by using buttons at the start and the end of the tutorial. These buttons will navigate you to the previous or next article. Also you can switch back at the complete overview. By mouseover the buttons you can see the next articles in row. For example, click.

You won't see those buttons when an article appears on the main page but when you click the article main title to see only this article you will have the buttons appear like magic and you can hit them.

- You can still see country flags in the overview to those articles which are already available in other languages than english. We are still working on more to provide full global jungle inspiration covering.

Massive Voodoo Information

It might be a little bit silent around me the next upcoming weeks as my girlfriend and I are moving. We are becoming neighbours with Raffa - today we had the official meeting to prepare everything - and now i am going to party because i am looking forward to it so much and fear the massive work ahead which such a short timed appartment moving will hold. On the double!! Partytime!!
