Tabletop Insider 05

Aloa.

I just wanted to inform our german jungle visitors that the german Tabletop Magazin "Tabletop Insider" got a brand new issue out for Sale. It is fully packed with intresting stuff, from gaming reports, army build ups, several tabletop game reviews and last but not least tons of painting articles. For example: Multiple Demon Winner Dr. Georg Damm is explaining how to paint NonMetallicMetall while Raffa rocks the house with a big Step by Step article about his last years Slayer Sword duell "Hunter or Hunted". Mati is also involved with a fresh interview and some thoughts on sculpting... really this issue is worth the hunt for it! Only available in german!

Good Morning Jungle!

Everyday is full of inspiration and here comes another big inspiration post to keep you all informed about where my inspiration comes from.

First, i want to start off with a photo i took during a visit of Munich's Zoo last Saturday with a bunch of friends. Big thanks to Raffa for borrowing me his camera to be able to took those photos. I did many others and will do a little photo gallery if someone tells me he his intrested - just do this via comment here - i am asking about it because this will take much time for me to prepare all 300 photos and i guess i will do it only if there is somebody intrested - so raise your voice! The photo shown was done at the gorilla enclosure - at place while i took the photo i was a bit sad that i could not sit where the boy's family sit to take good shots of the silverback but in the end everything happens with a reason and i am more than happy that the photo turned out this way - love the mirroring of the glass - i would say this was a lucky shot - tell me what you think when seeing this via comment, that would be great to know:

Next, BANANA Sculpting. Haha, so many people emailed me this link of a great sculptor who sculpts with Bananas. Ok, what can i say, thanks a lot for keeping me updated about this - you know the Jungle is the best place for bananas. Just take a look at this amazing work.

Toxic Waste & Sunny Day

Heeeey!

The last two days were very sunny and nice and so i took some photos :)
One is catching big kong off guard while priming and the other is a small vignette Roman created yesterday to give me a signal to clean my ashtray ;)

This weekend will be a nice event in Paris... the AFM Montrogue, Roman, Oli and myself will start our trip there soon, hope to see you there!

Charlie's Angels and All Hail to the Cook!!

This little scene is painted for the Frothers Unite Charity Action by Jon Atter. This exclusive scene - with rare sculpts by 3 masters - is arranged and painted by me  and will be raffled at this years Salute in London - you can take part in that raffle to support cancer research and MS research. The Prizes:

Some very special resin versions of the Charity Angels figures sculpted by Kev White, Andrew Rae and Seb Archer, the Base by Ian Brumby and cast by Grey Matter Figures are being painted up by some very special artists.

This was a great fun project. Sculpted by Andrew Rae (Statuesque), Sebastian Archer (Guild of Harmony) and Kevin James White (Hasslefree). These sculpts are done from the original 1970's Charlie's Angels. My plan was to rework the base so that you can see that this one comes from my side and is made from Gorilla fingers. I was lucky to still had the Ape statue by Alkemy around here and the idea was gladly accepted. Hope you like them! They will be for Sale at Salute!

Another piece i did finish yesterday during the day and our little painter's meeting together with Peter again is called "All hail to the cook!".This one is a little present to a cook. The cook who keeps the participants and myself during the next painting class alive. This one is a the so called deluxe painting class where the class will be hold in a holiday house, with all the participants sleeping there and a cook who makes meals for us without getting seriously paid for it. Many thanks and all hail to the cook!!!

This article seems to become a book and the pirate needs to wait for the strong winds again after i am already preparing my next painting class ahead. Strange Days by Fred Ink

Hello dear jungle friends ! Tonight I want to promote a book I just finished reading and really liked.
It is called "strange days" and was written by a minipainter buddy known as Redfink.

There is a little something behind you should know first though. The book( german language ) is up for everybody to read at EPIDU and you can find it by clicking here. If you enjoy it and want to support the book being printed in the future, then you just have to register ( takes 2 minutes only ) and scout it. I really really enjoyed reading it and certainly recommend it to all the jungle friends.

Strange days is a wild and refreshing mixture of genres that understands to capture the reader with a big portion of suspense, horror, humor, violence, drugs, sex and a parrallel world. Nice characters who develop during the story, gaining new abilities and friends to fulfill their destiny, will instantly capture the heart of the reader. As you read you will take part in the story from different perspectives that all together form a big mosaic picture, that becomes clearer and clearer. An imminent danger is to be stopped and the world(s) have to be saved by a hero with a broken heart and his trusted pot smoking friend. On their adventure they meet new friends that will help them in the mighty task they have to fulfill.

If you like Lovecraft, you certainly will enjoy, even love this book, please don't forget to scout for it as it really deserves all support it can get.

Jungle recommendation: Let your loved one read it to you while you paint, like that you can enjoy it together and it creates a lot of very different and powerful atmospheres you might want to use for inspirational purposes.

Palak is busy at the moment, but she allowed me to quote her words in here...

"Do you know what inspires you the most?

If you don't know what you truly like, what you truly dislike, what inspires you totally, what triggers you, may be you could use some detox.
Detox of people, city, energies, society, friends, maybe some time in solitude, some time you embracing you, some time you pampering yourself completely and totally so that you forgive yourself for the shitty stuff you had to do, so that you nourish your inner child and refuse to compromise on life in any possible way. Get back to yourself. You can be wayyyy to influenced by the grid set up in and around you and the only time you get you use to dance away and party because you feel you deserve it after a long hard week of work.
Know what! Your inner child deserves it too. More than you know, spend time alone and i dont mean by watching tv or on the comp.. i mean just being.. going for a walk..being comfortable in your own silence for hours, talking to yourself as if talking to your best friend, building a deep connection with the self, know yourself more and you'll know your true self. When you build a connection with your true self you'll know your true likes, dislikes and you'll live from the heart at all times.

The more you do it/live it/feel it, the more you'll understand this. Reading this Does Not Help. Feeling it is the only way to get it and to find your true likes, your life purpose perhaps. Also, each one gets a different message from this. The depth of the message varies according to everyone's connectivity to the self. The more truly connected you are, the more depth, love, compassion and life you shall feel. It's a journey. Start it if you haven't. It's worth everything.

Pocket Poetry Slam!

Hey everyoneeeee!

This time for something little different ;)

Yesterday was a super cool event in our home jungle Augsburg and as a good friend asked me to take part in it because they were lacking participants i agreed and tried my best to entertain the people there :)
As it was a poetry slam but i am lacking poetrical (?) skill i tried my luck at painting a quick canvas..

Roman was so kind to take a video... but as you can see big kong certainly needs some training at the video camera, haha :D
